On Friday, May 16, 2025, Parks Canada is pleased to welcome all new and returning visitors to the 105th navigation season on the Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site.

Spanning 386 kilometres from Trenton to Port Severn, this National Historic Site invites you to slow down, savour the journey, and connect with the rich natural and cultural heritage of central Ontario. As the waterway winds through lakes, rivers, and charming lockstations, it also flows through vibrant communities and moments of breathtaking beauty. Whether boating, cycling, paddling, or strolling the shores, the Trent-Severn Waterway offers time and space to appreciate the land, the people, and the stories that shape us. Our 2025 Hours of Operation are as follows:

Monday to Thursday - 10:00 am – 3:30 pm

Permits and Staying Overnight
For information on seasonal lockage and mooring permits, visit our website before departure. Permits are also available at any lockstation upon arrival. You can also extend your fun on the waterway with a one-of-a-kind stay at an oTENTik, Ôasis or reservable camping site. Click here to learn more about our unique and popular overnight offers.

Lock & Paddle 2025
Back by popular demand and after a record number of participants in 2024, our popular Lock & Paddle event will return to Peterborough on Canada’s Parks Day (July 19th). We invite you to celebrate this year’s event with family, friends and fellow paddlers in a “triple crown” of paddling fun as Peterborough, Ottawa, and Montreal will all play host for this free, one-of-a-kind canoe and kayak community event. What is Lock & Paddle? Learn more about this signature event here!

Visitor Safety
The safety of our visitors and staff continues to be of the utmost importance to Parks Canada. Boaters, paddlers, and swimmers are reminded that certain areas continue to have higher-than-average flows and are asked to exercise caution. Floating debris may be present, and navigation aids may be off-station as we continue to monitor the navigation channels. Boaters are also advised to watch their wake and wash near shorelines to avoid damage to docks, boats and property.

Just in time for the long weekend! x Great Canadian Meat is now at The Beer Store across Ontario.

Because nothing pairs better than a cold one and a Pepperoni. It’s basically the most Canadian combo since plaid and duct tape.

So when you’re stocking the cooler... don’t forget the snacks.
Meat and beer — the long weekend essentials.
