Do you have dreams of helping protect the environment? Maintaining natural spaces for habitat preservation and watershed conservation, and creating opportunities for people to appreciate nature is what Saugeen Conservation does every day.

Donations allow SVCA to make improvements to public recreation areas such as trails, plant trees to improve forest cover and pursue initiatives designed to improve the health of our watershed.

Every donation supports SVCA in the care, management and protection of over 21,000 acres of land. All donations of $25 or greater are eligible for a charitable receipt for your tax return. Donations of $200 or more could qualify for federal and provincial charitable donation tax credits of nearly 50%.

Keep your pup on a leash, protect wildlife and stay safe! When visiting lands, all pets must be leashed on a secure lead no longer than 2m.

🦌 Protect Wildlife: Loose dogs can scare, stress, or harm local wildlife, disrupting delicate ecosystems.
🐕 Protect Your Pet: Wildlife can be unpredictable and may put loose pets in danger.
👫 Protect Other Visitors: Not everyone is comfortable around dogs, and leashes help create a safe and enjoyable space for all.

🌲 Recreation in nature: where conservation and connection meet. Conservation Authorities play a vital role not just in protecting our natural environment, but in giving people the opportunity to connect with it. Whether you're hiking, birdwatching, camping, or simply enjoying a peaceful walk, spending time in nature offers significant physical and mental health benefits.

Research shows that time spent in green spaces can reduce stress, improve mood, and enhance overall well-being. Our conservation lands provide accessible, safe, and beautiful spaces for people to enjoy the outdoors, get active, and experience the restorative power of nature.

At Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority, we believe that one of the best ways to protect our environment is by encouraging people to interact with it. By experiencing nature firsthand, people develop a deeper appreciation for the land and the need to conserve it for future generations.

With a wide range of recreational opportunities available—from trails and scenic picnic areas to fishing spots or disc golf—there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Our campgrounds, conservation areas, and forests are open for you to explore, helping to foster a lifelong connection with nature while supporting your health and well-being.

Ready to experience the benefits of nature? Visit one of our conservation areas today and reconnect with the great outdoors.

We’re often asked why we don’t have ATV trails. Because conservation lands are for conservation. Under Ontario Regulation 688/21 (Rules of Conduct in Conservation Areas), motorized vehicles are prohibited. For good reason.

💚 Protect sensitive and precious wetlands, forests and habitats.
