⚡️ WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS DURING AN EV DIAGNOSTIC?

Think diagnosing an EV means plugging in a scanner, reading a code and replacing a part?

Not quite. 🔧

A fault code can point us in the right direction but it doesn’t always tell us exactly what failed.

Depending on the concern, a proper EV diagnostic may include:

🔍 Scanning & analyzing fault codes
⚡ Electrical and high-voltage system testing
🔧 Inspecting related components
📊 Reviewing vehicle data
🧩 Tracing the fault to determine the actual cause
✅ Confirming the diagnosis before recommending a repair

Why does this matter?

Because replacing parts based on a fault code alone can get expensive — especially on an EV.

At MaxPerformance Auto, our goal is to diagnose the problem properly before recommending the repair.

👂 WHAT’S THAT NOISE?

Squeaking? Grinding? Clunking? Humming? Clicking?

Your vehicle has ways of telling you when something isn’t quite right — and some noises are worth checking sooner rather than later.

Swipe ➡️ to see what some of the most common vehicle noises could mean.

⚠️ Remember: a noise is only a clue. Proper diagnostics are the best way to determine what’s actually going on before replacing parts.

🔧 TECH TIP THURSDAY: Don’t Wait Until Your Brakes Start Screaming! 🚗💨

Your brakes are one of the most important safety systems on your vehicle, and they’ll usually give you warning signs before there’s a bigger problem.

Squeaking or grinding? Feeling vibrations when braking? Noticing reduced stopping power? It’s time to have them checked. Catching worn brake pads early can help prevent damage to your rotors and save you from a more expensive repair.

⚡ EV owners: Because regenerative braking reduces how often your friction brakes are used, brake components can sometimes develop rust or corrosion—especially with our Ottawa winters. Regular brake inspections and servicing are still important!
