Well i forgot the to record the rest of the repair. But I'm sure everyone watching gets the jist of this. Gm vacuum pumps are trash. Technicians everywhere are looking at this and saying "i just did one of those."
Gm should move on to electric assist or back to Hydro-boost.
We did replace the vacuum pump and restored the power brakes in the car.

What i didnt show was any of the circuit testing. Some might say a scope is over kill. But not really. Easy to hook up. Will give you the answers you need. No guess work. But anyway. Truck needed a starter so it got one.

Now before the internet mechanics jump all over me for pulling the pump motor off. We tested it. Its junk. Just easier to remove the brake lines from the hydraulic unit with it out of the way.
So. New used motor and block fixed the issue and live data returned.
I Isolated the module on the bench by pinning into the can bus, wake up signal and supplied power and ground. From there I manually entered the vehicle into my scanner and was able to communicate fine with the module.
Confirming the module after I confirmed there were no network issues.

Observation is key when doing repairs or service work on any vehicle. The smallest oversight can cuase a major failure. Verify the concern. Complete the repair. Verify the repair. Deviate and there could be consequences.

Cleaning the in cab temp sensor did repair this problem. I don't have the exact description of operation with this particular system. But it seems like temperature differential between the in can temp, outside and ambient temp and the evaporator temp was the cause. There were no codes set in the system. This is my assumption on how the hvac module is programmed to interpret that data. Anyway. Ac works great now with no shut downs.

05 toyota with a cam circuit code. As stated in the video. Pattern was good but low amplitude and extremely low idle. Fixed the idle issue and the amplitude problem with it.
We tested the harness as a learning expedition for one my techs. All good there.
Said it before. Will say it again. If your doing diagnostics. You need a scope.
Anyway. This one is getting given back to the customer with a data recorder just incase something else is going on.
