Job Overview
We are hiring an experienced Automotive Mechanic to operate a shop in Orillia for all auto repair and maintenance needs. You will be responsible for inspecting customer vehicles, diagnosing problems with the engine or other systems, perform routine maintenance, and complete necessary repairs. Candidates with more than five years of mechanic experience are preferred. Responsibilities for Auto Mechanic
- Examine cars based on customer requests or concerns
- Diagnose all current issues with vehicles
- Complete and present estimates for customers with an explanation of why the repairs are necessary
- Properly document all information about vehicles during the intake process
- Ensure all vehicles are safely transported and positioned on all lift equipment as needed
- Follow checklists to ensure thorough examination of all parts and systems
- Keep detailed records of all part, fluids and time for each project
- Perform basic maintenance, including changing motor oil, rotating tires, and checking fluid levels
- Repair or replace worn parts and systems, such as wheel bearings, brake pads, tires
- Maintain a clean and safe shop environment
- Perform repairs thoroughly, accurately and in a timely manner
- Ensure customer satisfaction at all times
Qualifications for Auto Mechanic
- Completion of a postsecondary program in automotive service technology required
- Must have Ontario Mechanic’s License (310S) in good standing
- ASE Certification (preferred)
- 5+ years experience in relevant field
- Experience with electronic systems maintenance, diagnostic systems, and repair
- Skilled in the operation of shop machinery (Tire Machine, Wheel Alignment Machine, etc..)
- Knowledge of OBD1 and OBD2
- Attention to detail and the ability follow direction precisely
- Valid Driver's License
- Basic computer skills required
- Strong communication skills
- Physical strength and stamina, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- The ability to work overhead and bent over for long periods of time
