Another great day in the Cariboo! We have had clear skies for the last week, with warm temperatures during the day, but cooling off beautifully at night.. one of the best times of year to visit! 🐟🌞
HWY 97 through Clinton has reopened! Thankful for all the hard work to make that happen! Always check Drive BC before heading out ☺️.

Another beautiful day 🌞 we have been blessed with clear skies the last few days, and of course, good fishing! 🙌 🐟
Roger brought in a beauty 3 pound 7 oz kokanee last week! What a fish! Kokanee have been rolling in everyday, most of them between 2-3 pounds. It's been a season for the fishing books!
Here's some snippets from the last few days - fish and the views (a triple rainbow after a rainstorm 🌈!)

A well written post from Moosehaven Resort on Hathaway Lake. Many of the tourism businesses, like ourselves, feel the same way.

We ourselves have not been on alert at all this summer but have faced many cancellations. Our cancellation policy has practically been "thrown out the window" as many people have expressed concerns of travelling up into the area and we did not feel that it would be right to enforce it. Sadly, smoke and fires has become a norm in the last few years, so take this into consideration when booking/planning trips!

Premier David Eby has issued the following statement on the declaration of a state of provincial emergency in B.C.:

Very happy to see that the alert south of Highway 24 has been lifted, and the evacuation order of North Green Lake has been downgraded to alert!
Hwy 97 remains closed, so if you are coming from the lower mainland, you will still need to take Hwy 5 through Kamloops and Hwy 24 from Little fort to us!
Fishing has continued to be GREAT! Keep an eye out for my next post for some cabin availability and some fish photos 😉

Some photos of the last couple of days...
Smoke comes and goes, but never seems to stay heavy/stick around for a long time🌞 Fishing is still great, with some beautiful kokanee coming in! 🐟
Thankful for all the men and women fighting the Pear Lake Wildfire south of us 🔥 we are doing well up here and are not under alert from the fires (it is about 40km south of us). Hoping they are able to make some headway on it 🤞

Todays resort view! A good rain storm passed over us and it just freshened everything up. It was much needed and we are thankful for every drop we can get! 🌧 the sun is shining again and the smoke has seemed to keep away.
We have had some cancellations in our cabins (August long weekend!) and campsites. We are registered with ESS so if there any evacuees looking for a place to stay, we are here!

Rustic cabin 3 July 31- August 7
Modern cabin 6 July 31- Aug 3

Todays view of the lake - we welcomed some much cooler weather today. The last 2 days smoke had rolled in heavy in the evenings, but today we could breathe a little lighter. We are watching the fire situation to the south of us closely (Clinton), but so far things are going well up here at the resort.
We are thinking of everyone affected by the fires, and applaud all the brave men and women fighting these fires 💚 we can't thank you enough!

Some snippets of the last week.. 🌞🌿 🐟 Fishing has been great and it looks like we have some sunny and warm days in the forecast 😎
Phil made a clean sweep of the Fishing Highway 24's fishing derby! His largest was a 2 pound 12 ounce kokanee - congratulations, Phil! 🎉
