EV Rebates for residents of BC have changed. Rebates are based on individual or household income and the rebate amounts are tiered, based on your income. If your income exceeds $100,000, or if your household income exceeds $165,001 or above, you will no longer get a rebate. You need to be pre-approved to get a rebate now, before you buy your new EV, and before the BCGEU job action, that process was to take about a month. If you have already bought an EV after 2015, you will no longer be able to get another EV rebate. Most information is available on the website here,

One grey area we are trying to figure out is if we can protect, or grandfather factory orders that were placed for 2022 model year that were not built and will have to be built as 2023 model year. One thing to note, this was not done in consultation with the auto industry, nor has this been officially presented to any of the stakeholders in our business. Stay tuned.
