Repair timelines are usually created based on what can be seen during the initial inspection. Once repairs begin, the picture can change.

As parts are removed, our Red Seal Certified technicians can properly assess areas that are not accessible from the outside.

• Components behind panels may only be visible after disassembly

• Additional damage can change how repairs need to be completed

• Some repairs require specific OEM parts that must be ordered once damage is confirmed

• Updated findings may require revised approvals before work continues

At Trojan Collision, we keep customers informed as repairs progress and work closely with insurers and suppliers to move the process forward as efficiently as possible.

After a minor collision, damage is not always as visible as it seems. Modern vehicles are designed to absorb impact in ways that are not always obvious from the outside.

Here are a few early warning signs that damage may be more serious than it appears:

• Warning lights turning on after an impact, especially airbag, ABS, or sensor alerts

• Changes in how the vehicle drives, such as pulling to one side or steering that feels off

• Uneven body gaps around doors, hood, or trunk

• New noises like rattling, grinding, or wind sounds

• Driver assistance features no longer working properly

If something feels different after a collision, it is worth having it inspected. Call us today to schedule a free estimate.

Patience plays a bigger role in road safety than many people realize. Rushed decisions and frustration often lead to preventable collisions.

According to ICBC, here are a few ways to bring more patience into your daily drive:

• Leave earlier so time pressure does not influence your decisions
• Maintain a safe following distance, especially in stop and go traffic
• Expect delays and unpredictable behaviour from other drivers
• Stay focused and avoid distractions that increase stress
• Remember that arriving safely matters more than arriving quickly

Choosing patience helps protect you, your passengers, and everyone sharing the road.

Don’t forget, winter tire rules are in effect across many British Columbia highways until April 30.

If you’re involved in a collision and don’t have the required tires installed, it can affect your claim and liability under ICBC’s rules.

If you’re unsure whether your tires qualify, look for the mountain/snowflake or M+S symbol on the sidewall, and make sure you have at least 3.5 mm of tread.

Even a minor fender bender can knock your wheels out of alignment and the symptoms aren’t always obvious right away.

• A shifted suspension can cause uneven tire wear and poor handling.
• Modern vehicles rely on precise geometry for lane-assist and stability systems.
• Post-repair alignment ensures your car tracks straight and performs safely.

Every Trojan Collision auto body repair includes detailed post-repair inspections to confirm that safety and performance meet manufacturer standards

As daylight hours shorten and more animals are on the move, fall is one of the most active times for wildlife on British Columbia roads. According to ICBC, there are an average of 9,900 crashes involving animals each year.

Here's what you can do when you driving in areas where wildlife may be present:

• Watch for wildlife warning signs. These are posted where animals are most often seen on the road.

• Slow down and use caution when you spot wildlife near the highway.

• Be especially alert during dawn and dusk when visibility is limited.

• If you see one animal, expect more as many travel in groups.

• If you can’t avoid a collision, brake firmly, maintain control, and steer to strike the animal at an angle.

Did you know that approximately 42% of pedestrian-involved crashes in British Columbia happen between October and January, with 79% occurring at intersections. As darker evenings return, drivers and pedestrians both need to stay alert.

Here are a few reminders from ICBC to help keep everyone safe:

• Focus on the road – put your phone away while driving.
• Look for pedestrians, especially when turning at intersections, crosswalks, and near transit stops.

• Give space when passing pedestrians:
– 0.5 metres in areas with a separated sidewalk
– 1 metre where the limit is 50 km/h
– 1.5 metres where the limit is above 50 km/h

• Reduce speed in areas with pedestrian traffic. Slower speeds lower the risk of serious injuries.

• Prepare your vehicle for bad weather: check headlights, tire pressure, wiper blades, and fluid levels.

Thanksgiving weekend is coming up, and whether you’re travelling to visit family or staying close to home, remember to use caution when driving this weekend.

Each year in British Columbia, an average of 580 people are injured and three are killed in 1,900 crashes over the Thanksgiving long weekend. Distracted driving, impaired driving, and speed remain the top contributing factors.

Before you travel, take a moment to plan ahead:

• Check weather and road conditions before heading out.

• Be ready for changing fall weather – rain, fog, or frost can appear quickly.

• Make sure your headlights, tires, and wipers are in good condition.

• Remember, winter tires have been required on many BC highways since October 1.

• Pack an emergency kit with warm clothing, food, water, and blankets.
