It always amazes me what some boat owners use on their boat trying to bring back a shine. I've seen mineral oil, penetraiting oil, and car cleaner waxes ment for paint. Yet looks worse every year.
If you want a proper shine, with proper protection applied than use the proper products, or call the professionals! What some might think makes it look good temporarily, is only causing further damage.

When "Hey, can you take a look at these old screw holes?" Turns into replacing stringers and deck.
This boat had foot pedals that were original from factory (1989) and at one point rain water was able to enter through unsealed holes in the deck. Even though it was a small amount of water, it was enough moisture to allow rot to start forming in the deck and forward stringers. Ontop of that, some of the screws also penetrated the balsa core of the hull itself. Once that area was repaired, the floor replacement could continue. Now its onto filling cavities with foam and carpet!
