World Day Against Child Labour calls us to confront the systems, inequities, and global conditions that force children into unsafe and harmful work. We need to support children who are denied their right to safety, education, and have lost their innocence because of exploitative labour. It calls for our communities to learn more about child labour practices, and recognizing how poverty, conflict, and discrimination create conditions where children are most impacted.

On World Environment Day we recognize our shared responsibility to protect the lands, waters, and ecosystems that sustain us. This day calls us to reflect on how our choices, systems, and communities impact the environment. Those least responsible for the crisis—especially communities in the Global South—face its harshest impacts. We must move toward practices rooted in respect, sustainability, and stewardship. This means teaching with intention, reducing waste, honouring Indigenous environmental knowledge, and creating opportunities for students and staff to engage in meaningful climate action. A healthier planet is a collective effort — and every action matters.

This Indigenous History Month we honour the histories, languages, cultures, and enduring contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples. It is also a time to reflect on the truths of this land, the impacts of colonialism, and our shared responsibility to advance reconciliation in meaningful, sustained ways. This means creating spaces for Indigenous students and workers so that feel seen and valued. It requires learning from Indigenous knowledge keepers, centering Indigenous perspectives and challenging the systems and practices that continue to cause harm. It is also a call to action. When we listen, honour relationships, and commit to change, we help build a future rooted in respect, justice, and reconciliation.

This month, we honour the brilliance and leadership within 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. Pride is a celebration and a reminder that everyone deserves to learn, work, and live in spaces where they feel safe, affirmed, and free to be who they are. In our schools and communities, affirming Pride means challenging discrimination, uplifting q***r and trans voices, and building environments rooted in respect, inclusion, and love. It means showing up consistently, visibly, and with care. Happy Pride Month.
