Another year of innovation, competition and engineering excellence at FSUK 📏 🏎️ 🛠️

Congratulations to ECU Racing on claiming the overall victory after a hard-fought, five-day competition, and to MoRe Modena Racing on winning the Multimatic Vehicle Dynamics Excellence Award.

While the results deserve recognition, what stands out most is the ingenuity, passion and technical excellence displayed by Formula Student teams from across Europe. The innovations on display leave no doubt that the future of mobility and engineering is in capable hands.

Multimatic is back at Silverstone this week to support the students competing in FSUK, and we brought an absolutely electrifying display car to show off ⚡️

Stop by and talk to our engineers about the one and only Lotus Evija X, the extreme, purpose-built version of the electric hypercar developed specifically for the track.

We will also be presenting the Multimatic Vehicle Dynamics Excellence Award again this year to the team that best demonstrates understanding and application of vehicle dynamics.

The sound of freeing a new diecast car from its blister pack. The scent of extra thin model cement. The sight of slot cars zipping around the track.

That's where it started for many of us at Multimatic. That early inspiration led to what we do every day, engineering, developing, and assembling some of the most exciting vehicles in the world.

In turn, we hope these programs will spark the imagination of tomorrow's engineers, builders, and innovators.

For National Road Trip Day, we’re travelling back to one of our most memorable road trips: the 1995 One Lap of America with the Ford Aluminum Intensive Vehicle (AIV).

The AIV was an experimental program exploring the use of aluminium in automotive applications. Multimatic supported the engineering and development of the doors as well as durability testing.

In 1995, we partnered with Ford to campaign the AIV in the One Lap of America—a series of time trials across multiple East Coast racetracks, with competitors driving overnight between events.
The AIV test vehicles were based on production Mercury Sables that was built on a fully aluminum structure. Our test car, equipped with a manual transmission, received the full Multimatic treatment: suspension from our Ford Ta**us SHO racecar, a bit more power from the Yamaha V6, and resident hotshoe Scott Maxwell behind the wheel.
