Caterpillar just surprised everyone by unveiling its first-ever pickup truck!

The rugged truck was revealed at the ConExpo-Con/AGG construction show and is designed as a mobile command center for construction site managers.

Instead of building an entirely new platform, Caterpillar based the truck on a Ford F-450 Super Duty, keeping its powerful 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbo-diesel V8 and heavy-duty towing capability.

Its standout feature lies in the construction-site technology, such as an integrated drone launch platform, AI-powered monitoring, worker-sensing cameras, and cutting-edge safety features designed to manage major building projects.

Should Caterpillar turn this prototype into a production model, it might spawn a CAT-branded heavy-duty pickup as the definitive work truck.
