Stefan at RSP Motor-Sports Inc working his magic on our little 68 vixen supersport, 1600 crossflow with EFI twin 40 DCOE throttle bodies controlled by an RM Racing Electronics-Official ECU.
Should be a fun little car when it’s finished

Bedding in the fresh motor

02/14/2026

Couple weeks ago the Body shell was reunited, next milestone (much more exciting) fire up the freshly rebuilt motor, took a little experimentation to get the distributor lined up to fire on number one, but found the sweet spot and after four pumps of throttle she coughed back into life.
Set ignition timing to 12 degrees BTDC and it seems to purr nicely, no coolant leaks which is always a relief and let it run on a high idle for 45 mins to bed in the cam, followers and rings.
The freshly restored radiator with new high efficiency core and puller fan kept it at 170 degrees, granted it was minus 6 C outside the shop with the door open to vent lol.
Next finish the engine bay wiring, brake lines, bleed brake and clutch and move onto trim πŸ‘

Final instalment of the Nissan 200 diff conversion, the driveshafts πŸ‘.
A pair of custom driveshafts finally arrived and we had already made adapter plates so that the inner fl**ge can be bolted up to the Nissan output shafts.
The new driveshafts incorporate 1310 series u joints and modern double lip seal therefore stronger and no requirement for those pesky rubber boots that always seem to prematurely perish and allow the driveshafts to spray the diff area with grease lol.

the 1968 TVR vixen dash and instruments is now rebuilt and ready to install. The AC gauge bezels seem to be hard to find these days, therefore re chromed some originals. Arrow switches all rebuilt with new front rocker units to replace the originals which had broken retaining clips a common issue with these 50 year old switches.

A few photos illustrating how we have re made the origami style glove box that all of the pre 1970 TVR seem to have been supplied with from the factory.
Made from mill board and contact cement glued together these glove boxes were stapled to the back of the dash with a couple of extras small bolts attaching it to the firewall for extra support.
This style of glove boxes were common in cars of the era before manufacturers molded them in fibre glass
On a lot of barn finds these may well have disintegrated if they had gotten wet. On this car we managed to salvage the original and tease it apart to provide a template for making a new one.
Fairly simple to make and we are happy with the result.

Minus 15C this morning when I picked up the car and exhausts.
Never had cause to start one of our vixens before at these temps but she fired right up and purred like a kitten.

Gotta love a barn find transformation
One lady owner super sport vixen and obviously she was very proud of it to get a personalized plate for it.
Sporting her new colours, ugly bumper bar delete, repaired and polished bumperettes, amber turn signal lenses and rare as hens teeth re-chromed, re lensed and re wired Lucas L469 (XK140) reverse lamp.
