Your trailer is dropping hints about its brakes, whether you're listening or not 💥

A squeal here, a slow drift to one side there, a stop that takes just a little longer than it used to. None of it's loud enough to panic over, all of it's worth checking: grinding noises, burning smells, uneven tire wear, vibration underfoot, warning lights, thin pads, or brakes that just don't grab like they used to.

Even no symptoms at all is a reason to check, if it's been a year since the last look.

Magnets. That's the short answer for how your trailer actually stops 🔧

Electric brake controllers send voltage to a magnet inside the drum, the magnet grips, the lining when engaged, and 3,000 lbs behind you comes to a smooth stop instead of an eventful one. Simple concept, big job.

It happens more than you'd think - trailer wiring isn't standardized the way people assume, and a 4-pin flat and a 7-pin round don't care that you're leaving Friday.

Mark got them the right adapter, wired up and tested before they pulled off the lot.

Your bearings work harder than your outboard does. 🚤

Our Marlon boat trailer lineup covers 12, 14 and 16 foot boats - fully adjustable, mag wheels, non-marking rollers.

Now the part that actually saves you a weekend:
💥 Every launch drops hot hubs into cold lake water, and that temperature swing is what draws moisture past the seals. Freshwater is easier on your hardware than salt, but it still gets in
💥 Grease and inspect the bearings at least once a season, more if you're launching most weekends
💥 Check tire pressure and sidewall wear before the first trip, not after it
💥 Disconnect the trailer plug before you back down the ramp - submerged connections corrode fast

Three decades strong 🤝

Thirtyfive years of partnership doesn't happen by accident, and we celebrated it properly at our customer appreciation BBQ with Lee from .
