‼️SCAM ALERT ‼️
**The screenshots attached are examples of the sponsored ads scams**
Yesterday we helped another customer who believed they were calling a local towing company directly after searching online for a tow truck
Instead, they reached a third-party number that asked them to send money upfront before a truck would even be dispatched.
What makes this even more concerning is that when our company received the call for the tow, the person on the phone never identified themselves as a roadside company or dispatch service. They posed as the customer directly, asking about our rates and even saying that their “brother” would be there waiting for the truck.
At no point did it sound like we were dealing with another company.
When our driver arrived, the actual customer was completely unaware of what had happened and genuinely believed they had been speaking directly with us the entire time. They thought the money they had already sent was part of their tow payment.
Later, when they tried calling the original number back it had been disconnected.
It’s frustrating seeing people taken advantage of in already stressful situations, especially when they believe they’re calling a real local business.
**We do not request e-transfers upfront for regular roadside assistance calls.**
We encourage everyone to make sure they are calling businesses directly and not through third-party companies or dispatch services. One simple thing to check is whether the phone number is actually local to your area.
And as always, you can reach us directly at (902) 679-5001.
