A little more than an hour from downtown Kelowna, between Central and North Okanagan, you’ll find Graystokes Provincial Park.

This 12,000 hectare park is fairly secluded and features swamps, a lake, wooded areas, and wildlife.

There is no drinking water, so be sure to bring some water bottles if you’re heading out for a walk with the family!

Our latest blog has tips for making sure your summer tires are ready to hit the road, and some of our personal favourite stops along the way!

How’s your tread?

The tread on your tires is what gives them their grip and traction on the road.

Most have an indicator to show when the tread has worn to the point where the tires need replacing. Check your tread at the beginning of each season before installing your tires to ensure they will be safe for driving.

While vehicle dashboard indicators indicate when fluid levels are low, it’s wise to check your fluid levels between visits to your auto garage.

It doesn’t take much time to do and gives peace of mind that your vehicle’s fluids are topped off. Checking your fluid levels is especially smart to do before taking your vehicles on a long road trip.

Be sure to always check your fluid levels while parked on a flat surface. Use a clean rag or paper towel to wipe off your dipsticks.

Let’s start with the engine oil. Some experts say to run the car until it reaches normal operating temperatures, shut it off, and then wait 5-10 minutes before checking your oil dipstick.

Others say you can check the oil dipstick when the vehicle is cold. Consult your vehicle’s owner’s manual and ask your mechanic for their advice to figure out which method works for you.

Not all vehicles have a transmission fluid dipstick. If yours does, check the transmission fluid level with the vehicle running. Conversely, your vehicle should always be turned off when checking the coolant tank’s level.

Your brake fluid can be found in a reservoir tank with easy to view fluid level indicators. Also check the power steering fluid reservoir, which may have a dipstick depending on your vehicle model.

The last fluid level to check is for your windshield washer fluid.

Waxing can be done a lot less than washing – 2 or 3 times per year is recommended. Some more expensive 🤑 synthetic waxes claim that you’ll only need to use their products once a year.

Along with maintaining the shine of the exteriors of a 🚗 , waxing also protects their clear coat and paint from the harsh elements.

The easiest way to decide if your car or 🛻 needs a coat of wax is to put a little 💦 on the vehicle. A waxing isn’t needed if the water beads up.

What’s wrong with this picture?

Do you see it?

Where’s Waldo 🐀 ?

Rodents can be a real problem. They like to chew wiring because of the coating on the wires.
