Automotive Body Technician – Full Time
We are a small family owned and operated autobody shop in Hamiota. We are looking to add a new Automotive Body Technician. The ideal candidate will have experience in the automotive industry, be highly motivated, pay attention to detail and be dependable.
As an Automotive Body Technician, you will be responsible for:
Accountabilities:
• Review damage reports prepare or review repair cost estimates, and plan work to be performed.
• Sand body areas to be painted and cover parts, windows, and trim with masking tape or paper to protect them from the paint.
• Inspect repaired vehicles for proper functioning, completion of work, dimensional accuracy, and overall appearance of paint job, and test drive vehicles to ensure proper alignment and handling.
• Fit and weld replacement parts into place, using welding equipment, and grind down welds to smooth them, using power grinders and other tools.
• Prime and paint repaired surfaces using paint spray guns.
• Take direction from, and answer to, the production manager.
• Timely completion of all tasks as per the specified deadline.
• Remove and reinstall exterior glass.
• High attention to detail and willingness to learn.
Requirements:
• Journeyman Automotive Body Technician ticket or Apprentice preferred
• Ability to keep up to date with changing technology
• Commitment to providing a superior customer experience
• Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license
• I-CAR Certifications
• Must have or buy your own tools
Schedule:
• Monday to Friday 8:00 – 5:00
Wage:
• Wages based on skill and quality of work done in a timely matter.
