This is a public service announcement to our E-bike and 2 wheel customers!
These units are extremely fun because of the adrenaline rush they provide, in return it is also extremely dangerous. Accidents happen all the time to all different types of riders, regardless of your experience.
We have always told our customers it is not you but the others on the road you have to share that can cause you to crash.
This was the case for one of our unfortunate customers. He was obeying laws, abiding by all speed rules and was still taken out by a vehicle.
E-bikes are appealing due to no insurance, in the case where you get hit you are covered but hurt. In a case you hit someone, you will be forking up a lot of money.
He is recovering well but will need surgery and now has to go through the painful process of casts, not walking, time off work let alone the pain and suffering.
Canadian Power Sports Financing. was able to step up and provide a electric wheelchair to our customer free of charge as they were offered crutches only for free, which severely hindered their daily routine by limiting how far crutches can take them.
When purchasing a E-bike consider some sort of insurance, at the very least consider the fact you have to share a road with others who might not be as tentative as you are.
We are wishing Rubben a speedy recovery from the staff here at CPF. We have update photos of him with a new helmet on his wheelchair! His spirit is not broken and he plans to return to riding!
