Superior Auto Collision first opened its doors in 1971. It stared out as a basic auto repair shop owned and operated by Howard Mercer and has flourished into a Family owned and operated business.The original garage still stands as part of the current, newly renovated bodyshop. In 1999 the main office and garage was built to facilitate a "one stop shop" atmosphere for clients, where the customer ca

n have their mechanical, collision, performance and rust control needs fulfilled at a single location. In 2010 the Superior Auto Collision Group underwent some major renovations to their bodyshop division. The bodyshop is now fully equiped with a state-of-the-art Blowtherm paint booth, paint mixing room and prep station. This provides an ideal environment for the best possible paint match when you're having your car or truck repaired. The Superior Auto Collision Group is forever expanding and changing to meet the needs of today. 💥 55 YEARS OF SUPERIOR AUTO COLLISION! 💥

55 years ago, what began with humble beginnings became the foundation of something truly special.

In 1963, Howard and Viola Mercer, a husband and wife from St. John’s, Newfoundland, packed up their 3 sons and moved to Sudbury, Ontario. In 1971, they built their business with hard work, determination and a belief in treating people right. What started small, grew into a family legacy that has continued through the generations.

Today, August 11, 2026, 55 years later, SAC Group – Superior Auto Collision is still family owned and operated. Now carried forward by brother and sister, Chris Mercer and Leah-Jo Mercer-Sbrega with the third generation of Cooper Sbrega, becoming a part of the story and helping build the future.

From one generation to the next, so much has changed but what matters most has stayed the same ~ family, quality workmanship, hard work and our commitment to the people and communities we serve.

We are incredibly grateful to our Amazing Employees, without them, we would be nothing. Loyal customers, friends, business partners and our community who have supported us throughout this incredible journey.

55 years is more than a milestone. It’s 55 years of people, memories, hard work, challenges, successes and a family legacy we are so proud to carry forward.
