Thinking about training at Northern Construction Academy? The following are some of the questions we receive most often about funding, accommodations, and OSAP.

Have you been laid off and are collecting Employment Insurance?
You may be eligible for funding through the Better Jobs Ontario Program offered through Employment Ontario. Visit https://www.ontario.ca/page/better-jobs-ontario

Are accommodations included in the cost of the program?
Accommodations are not included in the cost of the programs however, we have obtained some great nightly and monthly rates for our students, ask a representative for more information. Alternatively, if you are looking for accommodations in the Greater Sudbury Area, please visit https://discoversudbury.ca/stay/

Are your programs eligible for OSAP funding?
Due to the length of our programs, we do not qualify for OSAP funding. There are many other funding options available for specific situations and can be found listed on our FAQ page or by contacting NCA at 1-866-NCA-GRAD or 705-674-1444

Looking at training, but not sure how you’ll pay for it?

There may be funding options available to help cover the cost of training at Northern Construction Academy.

Depending on your situation some options are:
• Better Jobs Ontario – If you’ve been laid off and are collecting Employment Insurance, you may qualify for funding toward training for a new career.

• Ontario Job Grant – Employers may be eligible for funding to help cover the cost of training their employees or new hires.

• First Nations & Métis Funding – Funding may be available through your local First Nation band office or Métis Nation.
Each program has its own eligibility requirements, so it’s important to check what you may qualify for before enrolling.

Unlike a traditional rigid-frame truck, an articulated truck is designed with a pivoting joint between the cab and dump box, giving it greater maneuverability and helping it navigate rough, uneven ground. Articulated Truck Operators are responsible for safely transporting materials such as rock, gravel, sand and soil around the job site. The job involves much more than driving - operators need to understand equipment inspections, safe loading and dumping procedures, site conditions, maintenance and proper machine operation.
