CUPE Alberta is attacking the Danielle Smith government over health care, education and its separation agenda.

But here’s the bigger question:

🔎 Our investigation found evidence raising questions about more than $13 million in taxpayer money provided to private schools, including schools alleged to have close ties to Danielle Smith and Alberta Justice Minister Mickey Amery.

If taxpayer money is involved, Albertans deserve transparency, accountability and answers.

Private interests should never come before public education and public services.

🇨🇦 Alberta is part of Canada. Our public institutions are not for sale.

Where did the money go? Who benefited? And who was responsible for approving it?

The name Lake Ontario comes from the Wendat word Ontari’io — a name that has existed for more than 400 years.
That name predates:

Borders change. Governments change. Presidents change.
But history matters.
And while America may be changing its trading relationships, foreign policy, monuments and even the names it uses for places, Canada knows who we are.
It is Lake Ontario.
Not because anyone in Washington says so.
Because it is part of Canadian history, geography and identity.

And Canadians should ask Danielle Smith a simple question:
Why is your government so comfortable standing beside a U.S. president who repeatedly disrespects Canada, while you keep talking about “Alberta sovereignty”?

🍺 Saskatchewan just sent a message to Washington:
Premier Scott Moe is imposing a 50% retaliatory tariff on American alcohol, starting September 8.

Meanwhile, Alberta’s Premier Danielle Smith continues to talk tough while refusing to use Alberta’s economic strength to stand up for Canada.

Why is Saskatchewan willing to push back while Alberta keeps giving Washington a softer landing?

🇨🇦 This is bigger than booze.
It’s about standing up for Canadian workers, Canadian businesses and Canadian sovereignty.

We don’t need a provincial government that puts American interests ahead of Canadian interests.

Canada is a country, not a bargaining chip.

🇨🇦 CANADA WILL NOT BE BULLIED. CANADA IS NOT FOR SALE.

Prime Minister Mark Carney has made it clear: Canada will not accept a trade deal with the United States at any price or on any deadline.

The government’s objectives are straightforward:

🇨🇦 Protect tariff-free access for the vast majority of Canadian businesses.
🇨🇦 Protect Canadian workers and small businesses.
🇨🇦 Reduce tariffs on our key strategic industries.
🇨🇦 Diversify our international trade partnerships.
🇨🇦 Protect Canada’s economic independence and sovereignty.

Tonight, Canada has suspended trade negotiations after last-minute changes to proposed U.S. terms were deemed unfair and uneconomic.

The U.S. intends to impose 50% tariffs on roughly $28 billion of Canadian goods. Canada says it will respond dollar-for-dollar to protect Canadian workers and businesses.

But this is bigger than tariffs.

It is about whether Canada controls its own economic future.

Canada is already moving forward with nearly $500 billion in major infrastructure projects, while opening new export markets around the world. Existing free-trade agreements give Canadian businesses preferential access to 1.5 billion consumers, with that market access expected to double by the end of this year.

🇨🇦 We can trade with America without becoming dependent on America.

A strong Canada is a Canada that stands on its own feet, protects its workers, builds new partnerships and never puts our sovereignty up for sale.

🇨🇦 ALBERTA’S $9.4-BILLION DEFICIT — THE BILL IS STILL HERE

Back in February, Danielle Smith’s UCP government unveiled a budget projecting a staggering $9.4-billion deficit.

But months later, Albertans are still living with the consequences.

The government blamed low oil prices and a growing population while promising more spending on health care and education.

But Albertans are also facing higher costs through fees and changes to the education property tax.

A province blessed with enormous natural resources should not have to keep riding the same boom-and-bust roller coaster.

The real question is:

Where is the long-term plan to protect Alberta’s finances and Alberta families from the next downturn?

🇨🇦 Alberta deserves responsible management, not another gamble with taxpayers’ money.

The reported finding was that 77% of respondents in the highest “disinformation belief” category supported the Conservative Party, compared with reportedly 4% for the Liberals and 2% for the NDP. The research used a 12-point disinformation index based on respondents’ answers to several statements, including claims about Canada’s economic growth, vaccine-related deaths, gun rights and climate change.

🚨 Donald Trump has announced 50% tariffs on certain Canadian goods.

Canada is facing an aggressive trade attack from the United States.

But when asked whether Alberta would respond by restricting U.S. alcohol, Premier Danielle Smith said NO.

Her message? Stay calm. Don’t retaliate. Let retailers and consumers decide.

Meanwhile, other Canadian provinces have maintained restrictions on American alcohol as part of the broader response to U.S. trade actions.

So Albertans have a fair question:

❓ When the United States attacks Canadian workers, businesses and industries with tariffs, whose interests should Alberta’s Premier put first?

Danielle Smith has repeatedly promoted closer ties with the United States while also pushing separatist politics inside Canada.
