Heading into the Labour Day Long Weekend, Inner City Diesel is proud to recognize the everyday workers who keep our industries moving.

From the shop floor to remote job sites, our crews put in the long hours, skilled labour and hard work it takes to get the job done. Whether they’re operating equipment, managing dewatering systems, maintaining pumps or supporting projects behind the scenes, their commitment and work ethic are at the heart of what we do.

Labour Day is a chance to recognize the people who build, operate, repair and keep things running. It's also the perfect opportunity to close out summer celebrations with family and friends.

For the second consecutive year, Inner City Diesel was contracted to support open-pit dewatering operations at Newmont’s Red Chris Mine in the rugged terrain of Northwest British Columbia.

Working in a remote mine environment with changing site conditions and significant water volumes requires more than equipment. The project called for experience, adaptability and operational precision. Our team worked alongside mine operations to optimize the existing dewatering system and keep pit access moving safely and efficiently. Inner City Diesel worked to ensure:

🔹 On-site pump and discharge system setup, operation and maintenance
🔹 Continuous water level monitoring and system optimization
🔹 On-demand troubleshooting and mechanical support
🔹 Coordination with mine operations to maintain uninterrupted pit access
🔹 Management of more than 400,000 m³ of water

The result? Targets exceeded and another successful dewatering project delivered. While activity at the project is currently paused, and scheduled to resume in 2027, Inner City Diesel is proud to share this exceptional work, with a big shout out to those involved in making this project successful. Congratulations to Mike Borges-Bills for completing 10 years with ICD. Mike started with ICD in the spring of 2016 working on the work boats at Syncrude Mildred Lake. Since then Mike has become one of our top HET’s now working at various sites in the Fort McMurray Region.
