This M38a1 will see Re-Powering from a 134F Willys Hurricane to a KUBOTA V2203DI.
The adaption is possible using our T90/T98a Adapter kit and the original large opening bell housing on the T90. A heavy-duty 9.25” Clutch sourced from KAISER WILLYS will be fit on the Adapter flywheel. The CARRIER re**er -unit V2203DI is being prepped for Jeep-Service with modifications to add a turbo drain and dipstick tube. The massive CARRIER spec. oil pan will be swapped off for a standard shallow industrial spec. oil pan. The clunky CARRIER specific large capacity oil filter adapter will be modified into a block off plate and the standard KUBOTA oil filter location used.
The standard 2 bolt Carrier exhaust manifold is replaced with a forward top discharge exhaust manifold. The Gen 1 OD Turbo kit and piping sets will be installed.
Being a late model CARRIER spec. v2203DI at the gateway to Tier 4, this engine is fit with a heated grid intake heater which saw a departing from the typical KUBOTA glow plug pre-heat system. The rear facing intake will be modified to re-use the heated grid section relocated forward to connect to inter-cooling piping.
A 12 Volt conversion is planned for this M38a1.
