THE NORTH SHORE CHALLENGE DRAG RACE IS RETURNING TO ELLIOT LAKE!
The annual North Shore Challenge Drag Race is northern Ontario's biggest motorsports event of the year. Hosted at the Elliot Lake Airport dragway, the competition is a 1/8 mile drag race that takes place from Friday, July 15th to Sunday, July 17th.

2021 Elliot Lake Drag Races Cancelled

At the June 14th meeting of Council, the difficult decision was made to cancel the 2021 Elliot Lake Drag Races. The current phased Ontario reopening plan remains unclear, as is the pace of vaccines and spectator sizes. Under those conditions, Council felt like it was the prudent choice to not host the event this year.

City staff will review the event and hope that we will be safe to host the event in the summer of 2022.

The City of Elliot Lake wishes all drivers and fans the best of health and a great summer.
