uit the retail suit and tie gig at GM and went on my own with my father while we were still running the family cab business and that's where the real learning began. In a nutshell if it is used as a taxi, police car, government car security etc: it has got to be good and reliable! My dad Ben and I sell what has been good to us as both daily driver and income earning automobiles. I am cheap and don't like to spend money fixing and I believe "you should drive to work not work to drive." I don't believe the customer is always right when the argument is mechanics, economics and engineering of reliable vehicles. Experience, statistics and over 20 years in a shop buying, fixing and selling used cars gives the right answer. With some ethics and responsibility to the many people who have put their trust in us over the years this little sideline business has turned into a lifelong career. If you come to the dirt and sand lots and think you hear the sounds of duelling banjos in the background and the looks of the locations seems to be a little haggard you have found us. It's not about showing up and showing off looking good to make a good impression to fetch a sale. Suits and ties are replaced with snowsuits and T-shirts and a casual 'please go shop around kind of attitude.' Sometimes there is even a wrench in our back pockets. We buy from the same dealer auctions as the big nice looking well operated dealerships but we have, and can still afford to sell anything for a whole bunch less. We have no reason to be biased towards any make and model of vehicle but we do give advice so people don't make the expensive wrong car choice. With a repair facility we can also advise against trading in a car that may look to be a junker. After a small repair bill what came on the lot as a loser trade in can be driven away as a winner.
