said we had to make the stop at Liberty Walk Harajuku — because this isn’t just a shop… it’s basically a street-level museum of Japanese car culture. Harajuku already feels like the center of fashion + attitude in Tokyo, and LBWK landing right here makes perfect sense. This is where stance, street style, and supercars collide in the most Tokyo way possible.

What makes Liberty Walk special isn’t just the widebody kits (even though the fitment is insane). It’s how they built the brand: from being a loud, rebellious style movement into a worldwide icon. Throughout Tokyo we saw many people in all corners wearing liberty walk stretlet wear.

And if you’ve ever seen LBWK online, you’ve probably seen .k who is basically the face of Liberty Walk’s next generation — the guy you see in the videos, in the shop, at events, and around the builds. He’s known for the Harajuku store presence, the super recognizable LBWK vibe, and that mix of hype + hospitality that makes the brand feel personal when you’re actually there in Japan.

Very lucky to catch him for a quick chat and get a license plate signed featuring the LB WORKS widebody F40.

AIMGAIN at Tokyo Auto Salon 2026 was premium. They’ve been building some of Japan’s most iconic VIP and street-luxury aero for decades — clean lines, aggressive presence, and that signature “finished” look that makes a car feel like it rolled out of a catalog. Whether it’s their classic VIP roots or their modern widebody direction, AIMGAIN has always been about turning a platform into a statement.

They're one of the first to offer body work for the new Prelude and AIMGAIN treating it like a serious styling platform is exactly what we want. Smooth, sharp, and futuristic by default — but with the right aero, it turns from “concept vibes” into something that actually looks ready for the street. If this is the comeback generation, AIMGAIN is already showing how it should look parked under TAS lights.

Their take on the GR86 is straight-up perfect for anyone who loves balance: modern coupe proportions with the right amount of aggression. AIMGAIN always nails that “lower, wider, meaner” look without overdoing it — the kind of kit that makes the 86 feel like a premium sports car instead of a budget toy. This is the build that makes you stare twice and start planning wheels instantly.

And the Yaris… this is where AIMGAIN really proves they’re not just about big-body VIP anymore. Small chassis, big attitude, all business. The best part is how it looks like a compact street weapon but still keeps that AIMGAIN elegance — sharp aero, tight fitment, and a presence that makes no sense for something that size (in the best way).

TAS always reminds you: the loudest builds aren’t always the biggest ones.

Had to pull up to the ASM Yokohama booth because if you know… you KNOW. put this at the top of his list when he went last year. This year they brought their #2 S2000 and it was part of the AUTOBACS setup this year. Where it belongs.

ASM isn’t here for loud hype — it’s that quiet perfection type of build culture. Every detail is intentional, every piece has a purpose, and the fitment + craftsmanship is just on another level. The kind of booth that makes you slow down and admire all the details.

From the aero, to the clean race-inspired styling, to that “OEM+ but also track-ready” vibe… ASM always hits different. We also pulled a move from last year and met Kanayama-san for an autograph 1/43 and a quick chat.

It’s one of those brands that reminds you: less can be more — if it’s done properly. Tokyo Auto Salon is insane as always… but ASM is still one of the booths that feels like pure enthusiast energy.

Craft Sports Japan at Tokyo Auto Salon 2026 is straight GT-R heaven

This booth wasn’t just “cars on display”… it was a whole GT-R museum + dealership + tuner archive in one.

If you don’t know Craft Sports Japan — they’re basically top-tier GT-R specialists.

They’re known for sourcing, curating, restoring, and selling some of the cleanest Skyline GT-R / GT-R builds in Japan, from collector-grade classics to full-on legends. The brought along two very historic R32 GT-R race cars, the famous calsonic and Reebok livery vehicles.

What caught our attention though was two R33 GT-R’s side by side that told two totally different stories:
- First one: the Tommykaira R Full SpecR (BCNR33)
That’s not “inspired by” — that’s real tuner heritage. Period-correct, rare, and one of those builds that hits way harder if you actually know what Tommy Kaira means in GT-R history.

- Second one: a BCNR33 GT-R V·spec NISMO Spec
The driver’s spec. Proper AWD tech, active rear diff vibes, and built with that classic NISMO / motorsport-correct energy. The kind of R33 that reminds you why this chassis is finally getting its respect.

This shop is top GT-R game — period.
