Our thoughts and prayers for the MacLean family, the Casale family and the racing community
Last night the racing community and Flamboro Speedway-Authorized Page lost Doug MacLean while he was doing what he loved, from the flag stand a top of the race track.
Doug was more than just a flag man, he was a loving husband, a devoted father, former competitor, crew member, and friend. He was part of Flamboro Speedway and racing for decades, becoming a member of the Hall of Fame earlier this year, but most importantly he was a kind, caring, man. A supporter of the racers and his track family, rarely to be found without a smile on his face.
As we mourn his loss and have questions about the incident, please remember that accidents happen at the track. In Doug's honour and the spirit of who he was, please be kind, and caring towards one another. This picture captured by Dale Calnan represents Doug perfectly.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends as well as the Casale family at this time.
