Each month we get a report from UDisc Disc Golf App about disc golf around our shop. Amazing to see over 1200 folks throwing over 330 000 throws last month! If you are looking to learn Dwight and I offer disc golf clinics through CVRD Recreation - Proudly Serving the Cowichan Valley! and if you are looking to stock your disc bags - come check out our selection during regular business hours!

We are so happy to partner with such a dedicated and community orientated organization in the Valley! Glenora Farm will be hosting their annual Christmas Fair on December 13th - looking forward to participating in the day!

Tomorrow is National Day for Truth & Reconciliation. Kroffat will be closed as we encourage our staff and customers to honour the day by attending local events.

In the Cowichan Valley there is a walk at 9am (https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1F3WwMLyta/) and a talk at 1:30 "The Truth about Cowichan" (https://www.facebook.com/share/19mM3ipKvF/).

Another way to commemorate the day is to engage with the One Day's Pay initiative - give your day of pay (or what you can afford) to this year's partner organization, the Stqeeye’ Learning Society, on Quw'utsun territories (https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1DUcvkgn5g/)

You could also reach out to support other local Indigenous-led organizations in the Cowichan Valley working towards health and healing in our community: Hiiye'yu Lelum-House of Friendship, Tsow Tun Le Lum RHSW Support, Quw’utsun Cultural Connections Society to name a few.

Dwight and I look forward to seeing you in community tomorrow.

Support Indigenous-led initiatives through donations on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Join us in honoring culture, history, and community resilience.

Kristi Koons and I love live theatre, it is so inspiring and captivating to see folks giving their all on stage! We especially love Atomic Vaudeville - while we miss Hedwig and the Angry Inch and Rocky Horror Picture Show (rip Tim Curry) we are so happy we still get to attend their variety shows. We happily took on the role of ‘The Dark Lord of Living Wages’ to ensure the artists are fairly compensated. If you love live theatre, if you appreciate the arts, if you have ever attended an Automic Vaudeville show or if you’d like to attend one this Hallowe’en - please consider donating a little extra to support a raise for the incredible artists that work so hard to ENTERTAIN US!
