Last week, we sent off the newest addition to False Creek Ferries' fleet on its maiden voyage. Before leaving the yard, we took one last look at the details and craftsmanship that went into this iconic Vancouver ferry.

Custom work becomes even more meaningful when there’s a story behind it.

For this liquor cabinet, the etched glass design was based on an orca illustration drawn by a family member of the owner, turning a functional feature into something deeply personal to the vessel.

From the cabinetry itself to the custom engraved glass, this project came together through collaboration, craftsmanship, and attention to the details that make a boat feel uniquely theirs.

Working vessels are built for durability and function, but that doesn’t mean the interior should be overlooked.

This project focused on refreshing and modernizing the vessel’s interior through updated flooring, finishes, cabinetry, upholstery, headliner panels, appliances, and more, all while maintaining the practicality needed for daily operations on the water.

Rather than completely changing the structure of the space, the goal was to improve the overall environment through updated finishes, functional upgrades, and a more modern feel throughout the vessel. The result is a refreshed working space designed for continued long-term use onboard, both practically and visually.

A closer look at the hull from our recent launch.

This vessel went through a major bottom overhaul and spent the last several months under cover in our shop while the crew got to work.

The timing for this launch couldn’t have been better either. With a finish this smooth, the blue skies reflected like a mirror, showing how refreshed and ready she is for the season ahead.
