We’re heading to the Vancouver Island Overland Rally in Coombs, BC, August 28–30.

Thinking About Buying a Used Tufport Slide-In? Read This First. 🛻🏕️

A used slide-in can be an excellent value, but taking a few extra minutes to inspect it can save you thousands in repairs later.

Before you buy, check these key areas:

🔍 Door Handles & Latches
Open and close every door. Handles should operate smoothly, lock securely, and show no signs of excessive wear or damage.

🪟 Windows and Vents
Inspect for cracks, chips, broken latches, damaged screens, or worn seals. Make sure they open, close, and lock properly.

💥 Fiberglass
Walk around the camper and look closely for cracks, punctures, deep gouges, or evidence of previous repairs. Pay special attention to corners, roof edges, and areas around doors and windows where stress is greatest.

💧 Signs of Water Intrusion
Look inside around windows and vents for soft spots, discoloration, or musty odours that could indicate past leaks.

🚛 Mounting Points
Inspect the tie-down and mounting locations for cracks, damage, or repairs that could affect how securely the slide-in attaches to your truck.

🚪Hinges – Check that the door hinges are straight, secure, and free from excessive wear or damage. The door should open and close without sagging or binding.

A well-built fiberglass slide-in camper can provide decades of reliable service but only if it's been cared for.

💡 A careful inspection today can save you costly repairs tomorrow.
