Our customers and employees have been the driving force of our past, present and future growth. At Lake City Motor Products, we take pride in how far we have come. The success of our dealership did not come about by chance. It was achieved through our strong work ethic, our innovation and our commitment to customer service. To understand how Lake City Motor Products has become the state of the art
dealership it is today, we have to go back to the beginning. Tercier Family
Mr. Rene J. Tercier moved his International Harvester dealership to Bonnyville from Mallaig in 1945 and guided the business during the difficult post-war period. Tercier sold the business in February of 1953. By August 10, 1953, Rene had opened his new business. Rene’s Esso Service was run by himself and son Edward (commonly known as Buck). The service station was considered to be the most modern service station in N.E. Alberta. Ed started selling Volkswagon, Studebaker, and International trucks in 1955 at the service station until the station was sold in 1958. Ed then moved his Volkswagon business to the old and newly remodeled International Harvest building. The new business ran under the new name of Tercier Motors Ltd. The official opening was held April 5, 1958. Ed Tercier along with his two service men started the company rolling. In 1963, Tercier Motors Ltd. was award the General Motors franchise for Bonnyville. The business continued to grow as well as expand into recreational divisions such as travel trailers, snowmobiles, boats and Evinrude outboards. At age 41 (1978) Ed had outgrown his location on main street Bonnyville and built a new 17,000 sq. At this time his son Norman joined the business. Also, during this time, Ed’s daughter Debbie Tercier was breaking down barriers for herself and women since 1978. Debbie began as heavy duty equipment parts person and then moved to the automotive parts sector. After working for various GM dealerships in the 80’s her focus shifted to selling new and used vehicles. In the early 90’s Debbie Tercier moved to Ottawa and gained valuable experience working for large dealerships, gaining experience in all aspects of new and used car sales and leasing. Debbie moved back to her home town of Bonnyville in 1996 and began working in the family run dealerships selling both GM vehicles and marine and power products. In 2001 the Tercier family purchased Greshner Motors in Cold Lake. Debbie became the General Manager and oversaw the huge renovations of this location that began in 2002. Once the renovations were complete the dealership was renamed Lake City Motor Products Ltd in 2004. In 2016 Lake City Motor Products moved to our new location. This new state of the art dealership will allow us to serve our customers and business better than ever. With our modern show room, Certified Parts and Service, and professional Sales and Finance team, Lake City’s goal is to give our customers every reason to shop local. At Lake City GM we are striving to be the Premier Automotive Dealer that our customers can trust and count on today, tomorrow and in the future.
