144,000 km. One owner mindset. Forever truck goals.
This 2nd Gen Tacoma came in with only 144,000 km on the odometer and was about as clean as they get before restoration. Unfortunately, even low-kilometer trucks aren't immune to Toyota's biggest enemy: corrosion hidden between the frame layers.
This truck was showing one of the typical mid-chassis frame separation caused by rust expanding between the factory frame laminations. Left unchecked, the layers continue to split apart and compromise the structure.

Scope of work;

✔ Full frame scale removal
✔ All rivets removed, heavy rust removed between layers
✔ Fully welded seam
✔ Mid-chssis frame stiffners added
✔ Complete phosphoric acid wash and neutralization process
✔ Epoxy primer application
✔ Full chassis paint coating
✔ A/C drain modification to prevent future moisture accumulation
✔ Final protection with 1.5 gallons of Fluid Film

The goal wasn't to patch it and send it down the road. The goal was to preserve a truck the owner plans to keep indefinitely.
These restorations take time, but when the foundation is solid, a Tacoma with only 144k km still has a very long life ahead of it.

Another return customer. Structural inspection, scale and Fluid Film last year before winter. Back for the repairs needed, new trac bar xmember, and outboard shock mount relocation. Gave it a further surface scale while it was disassembled, acid wash and paint over the rear section to prevent and further corrosion. Iced out with a full Fluid Film Black coating to finish things off proper! Back to Kelowna 👌

Return customer, repaired the cat area in 22' and the mid section splitting and inner stiffner plates in 24' still flawless AF. In this time for rear body mount corrosion repair, ac drain mod and Fluid Film Black recoat to keep things perfect. This baby has over 500k on the clock and I couldn't believe how minty it was under there ! Well done maintaining things doquette

2g Taco full frame spa service on repeat these days ! This one had to be saved, merica spec reg cab short box! Rebuilt engine, transmission, rear diff, all that was left was the chassis and thats been taken care now 👌 Headed back to Baja !

Taco's, Tundra's and 4runner's ohh my..! Been focusing on the work rather than the gram lately. Yotas for reps hard lately, booking into June currently. Get on it!! All the builder parts on file waiting for your build !

Oem rear frame delete and replaced with fully fabricated unit 👌 This one was previously repaired by the previous owner and still failed BIG TIME! The norm replacement protocol, full frame scale, phosphoric acid wash, primer coat, triple back, and Fluid Film Black topcoat.

Another full frame spa service! Full chassis suface scale, acid wash to chemically neutralize the corrosion, full primer coat, triple black top coat, followed by a heavy Fluid Film final coating. Mid splitting repaired and plate stiffners after fully welding the seams.
