5.3L V8 Engine - FUEL CONSUMPTION WORTH SHARING!
My client purchased a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Elevation 4th QTR of 2024. I remember, the hesitation way back, is a 5.3L V8 engine really a gas guzzler?? Of course my response being in sales, discussed the technology, equipment, specification and advantages of the truck having such kind of engine. End of the story that day was a signing of purchase document for a truck. 🤝
Fast forward to today, 2025, he came back to the dealership for a service preventive maintenance appointment. we had a short conversation, summer trips, plans and truck's specs which led us to the Fuel consumption/economy.
You know what? his fuel consumption driving from Manitoba to US which is close to 2000kms, is just $256Cad, giving him roughly 0.12cents/kilometer. 4 passenger inside the truck plus some personal bags. My realization? Now I know that travelling from Canada to US using a truck with a 5.3L V8 Engine (family of 4) will only cost $64/per person.. 😅
