Racing Rocky Mountain Rally in our own backyard was an awesome experience. 🛻🇨🇦

After spending most of out time racing in the desert, the muddy and ever changing conditions this weekend were a completely different challenge, but one we enjoyed every minute of.

A huge thank you to everyone who came to watch and for putting the whole event together. We also appreciate everyone who shared photos and videos with us throughout the weekend.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to race close to home and be part of such an incredible rally community.

What a night! Last week, we hung out with over 100 people at the shop - a mix of long-time supporters and new friends - to celebrate and recap the race team’s experience at the 2026 Dakar Rally.

We had an action-packed evening, with the race and support trucks on display in all their glory, the premiere of our Dakar documentary, Never Give Up!, and a Q&A session with the race team. Special thanks to our friends at Suds and Sodas for providing the drinks and adding to the fun.

Thanks to everyone who came to the event and for your support of this small race team setting out to do something big. Stay tuned as we get the truck ready for the next race… See you soon. 😉

Despite the 8000kms and 14 days of racing through some of the harshest desert terrain on earth that pushes teams and machines to their limits, the Dakar Rally is ultimately an exclamation mark on an odyssey that took the team from Canada to Mexico, onto Europe and Morocco before the big dance in Saudi Arabia. “Never Give Up” is the story of taking a dream from a small garage in Calgary to the finish line of the longest and hardest offroad race in the world.

It was a team effort. Crossing the finish line of the was the culmination of building a car and a race team from the ground up and working together to overcome all the obstacles in our path. It had never been done by a team from Canada, but we prevailed and hope we won’t be the last!
Thank you to our partner for believing in us. Thank you to our family and friends for allowing us to dare to dream. And thank you to everyone back in Calgary at The Gear Shop HQ supporting us from afar technically and logistically.
This is just the beginning!

14 stages, ~8000kms, 7 Canadians and one Ford Bronco Raptor. The goal was to be the first Canadian team to build and race a car at the iconic . Crossing the finish line, we exceeded that dream. This project began as an exercise in learning and we have learned so much with more to come. Thank you Dakar Rally for providing the canvas for this grand adventure we have just lived!

Week 2 of the has been just as tough, if not tougher than the first. The team has persevered despite the long stages, longer days and setbacks along the way. The motto has always been “Never Give Up” and the whole team is living by it.

While it was nice to have a day off, the real highlight of our rest day was coming by the bivouac to see our Ford Bronco Raptor. Brad is an offroad racing legend and has been an open book with advice and technical insight from his own experiences racing Ford Raptors in the Baja and King of the Hammers. Thanks for taking the time to stop by Brad!

Stage 5 of the 2026 saw Nathan and Shane camp out in the desert with the other drivers. We had no contact with them but we did receive some photos from the photographers on course that proved the boys were still moving forward and on an incredible adventure through some dramatic landscapes.
