Be honest, when's the last time you rotated your tires?
This is why you should be doing it more oftern that you probably are. Your front tires do most of the work (steering, braking, and pulling if you drive front-wheel drive), so they wear out faster. Rotating them roughly every 8,000 to 10,000 km evens that out, so you can replace all four together instead of two at a time.
Easy time to do it: when you swap to your winter set.
