Calgary has a free movie weekend beginning today. Cinema on 17th runs September 11 to 13 at Tomkins Park. The Culture Days program includes 11 free outdoor movies, live entertainment and Saturday morning cartoons. For families, it is an easy way to enjoy one of the last outdoor weekends before colder evenings settle in. There is also something nostalgic about sitting outside and watching a movie with a crowd. Would you rather watch an old classic or a newer movie outdoors?

Calgary pickle lovers, your dream festival is finally here 🥒🎉

Picklefest is coming to Calgary for the first time on August 29, bringing one seriously dill-icious day to Big Rock Brewery. 👀

Expect local vendors, live music and plenty of pickle-inspired eats and treats to try throughout the day.

And if you think your homemade pickles deserve some recognition, you can put them to the test in the “Show Us Your Pickle” competition, where local picklers will compete for cash prizes, bragging rights and ultimate pickle glory. 🏆🥒
