Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for the Lakes District and surrounding areas as a strong cold front moves through the B.C. Interior on Saturday.
💨 Sudden wind gusts of 60–80 km/h are possible.
❄️ Snow levels are expected to fall to approximately 1,200 metres across central B.C., with snow possible over higher elevations.
⚠️ Fallen branches, localized power outages and rapidly changing road conditions are possible.
LDM will be monitoring conditions throughout the Service Area and responding as required.
If you're travelling Saturday, please be prepared for changing conditions, slow down when necessary and drive to the conditions.

Construction work. Starting Mon Sep 28 until Tue Dec 1. From 7:01 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Saturday. Expect 10 minutes delay. Expect delays. Lane closures in both directions. Single lane alternating traffic. Watch for traffic control. Speed Limit restriction: 50km. Use caution when passing crew and equipment on highway.

🍂⚠️ Possible Freezing Overnight

Temperatures across the Lakes District are expected to drop below freezing overnight and into Wednesday morning.

Drivers should watch for localized frost or icy sections, particularly on bridges, shaded areas and low-lying sections.

Please slow down, allow extra following distance and drive to conditions.

Our crews will be monitoring conditions throughout the area.
