I cant believe it.

This was the first event that the talon has fully survived without a single break down.

Sure its overheating still but i pull it off the track before anything can happen.

The next step is to make more plates to enclose the rad to force air in aswell as replace the oem rad with a better aftermarket one.

Next year I will be doing more body work to help with airflow so for now its just simple fixes.

What other ideas do you have to help with temps?

This Saturday's event was great. Although the time attack competition got canceled due to the rain it was still an open lap day.

The talon is still overheating with the vent which means the rad is both not good enough and its not getting enough air.

Over the winter I will be focusing on making the car breathe a lot better and making sure everything gets enough air.

Can't wait to go back to the track again in 3 weeks.

THE CAR IS RUINED!! 😱

I know the whole dsm comunity will be angry at me for cutting up the 1ga hood and everything else ive done to it but it needs to be done.

The vent needs to be there to vent the air and atleast its my spare hood. This should give ample amount of ventilation to prevent the overheating.

Would you cut up a hood on this rare car?

NEW MERCH AND RACE UPDATE!!!! 👕🏁

Been on vacation so sorry for lack of posts.

With the DxN race coming August 22nd at Toronto Motorsports Park I am doing a lot of prep for the talon. Starting with brand new Falken tires.

With being at low end grassroots race team I try to save money wherever I can so I will be cutting my spare hood to make a vented hood. This will hopefully fix my overheating problem.

I will also be making a small little under tray between the bumper lip and the rad to force air to go through the rad instead of down and under the car.

The CEIKA brakes are going to be flushed out and switched over to dot 4 because last track event the pedal was getting squishy after a few hard laps also due to the fluid reaching its boiling point.

Lastly at the event I will be selling my new merch to help support the build and bring more content to you all. I will be doing a dedicated merch post as soon as I get the website set up for online orders.

Thank you all for supporting me and my passion for grassroots racing and i hope to keep pushing the car and myself to greater lengths and eventually competing full time in different styles of racing.

Can't wait to participate in my first race with the talon. A lot has been done to the car for this exact moment and I cant wait to go out there and push it to the limits.

Fire fire fire 🔥

The talon caught fire the other day taking it for a quick drive. Like all dsms the crank case pressure popped the dip stick oit and sprayed oil everywhere.

Once the oil got everywhere the heat from the exhaust lit the oil on fire and set the hood on fire.

Extremely lucky of me all I had to do was take my shirt off and suffocate the fire. I thought that my fuel line burst open which could of been so much worse.

How would you handle a situation like this?

Its always a good feeling when driving and somebody appreciates your build. Both me and the foxbody gave the appreciation wave and we don't even know each other.

NEW PB!!! 🎉🏁

I know its not a super fast time but its an achievement to me. Every year of working on the talon i push it harder and harder and with better track knowledge I can keep going faster.

First year of the car being stock and my first time on the track was a 2:18, last year was all engine performance mods and i got a 1:51. Finally this year was what I was most excited for with all the brake upgrades suspension and tires I managed to push it to a 1:31.

I know i can go much faster than that because I clearly made some mistakes around the track but now my goal is to push for low 1:20s.

Thank you CEIKA for the great quality brake kit. Not only do they look great but it fits good and functions as it should.

I took the car out to the track after installing these and it worked wonders. I was able to brake much later and beat my PB.

Install video is being worked on and should have it done soon.

What do you think of these brakes?
