Quick Sunday job for a very loyal customer we’ve been privileged enough to look after his series truck. Who’d have thought it could snap a half shaft… but it is a 2.5na conversion. All that power! 😂😂we pride ourselves in our 24/7 availability and quick turnaround for small jobs.

When you need a part but… it’s Friday night, your trusted supplier doesn’t keep them in stock, and you can’t wait 5 days to get it from the UK….

It’s time to dig out the lap top, draw it up on CAD and cut on the CNC plasma ✨

9.00pm on a Wednesday… need to blank an EGR… easy. Draw it up, convert the file for the CNC plasma, cut it and away you go. With the increased number of engine conversions we have booked in and with our full in-house design service, we have all aspects of in-house fabrication covered. Can’t wait to get current conversion out and reveal our next impressive power plant conversion.

When the scrap guy comes and you realize you’ve done 5 dual mass flywheels since February… I think we could be busy just doing clutches and flywheels… 300tdi clutch last night, td5 last Friday and a 300tdi coming in tomorrow… td5 gearbox today… busy times.

Another 2.3 Ecoboost rolls out of the workshop. Some pcm issues to resolve from a pcm supplied from the US; but she’ll be under her own steam very soon.
It’s without doubt the best solution to a tired old diesel engine. Made by Ford, it’s in Land Rovers bloodlines.

Powertrain conversions require complex plumbing such as components like blow off valves and intake sensors. We at Coil Sprung take the critical measurements required and design and manufacture our own custom solutions. These 3D printed housings will give a factory look to the conversion.

Another day… another engine rebuild. Love doing the old series engines. Hugely satisfying. Once my cats come in it’ll be back onto the Ecoboost conversion to roll out next week.

The age old problem with the clutch fork on early 90/100/Defender gearboxes. Poor maintenance and not changing the parts with the clutch leads to certain failure…swap al the parts, it’s not expensive.
