We’ve had lots of interest in our new Beyond the Steering Wheel program, but so far we’ve only received 2 registrations for our first session!

Well, the answer is in — and it definitely seems like there’s a lot of interest in Beyond the Steering Wheel!

After confirming with our team, we’re excited to announce our FIRST SESSION:

🔧 Session #1: The Basics of Your Car

Our mechanics will walk you through some of the basics every vehicle owner should know, helping you better understand your car, what’s happening under the hood, and the regular maintenance that helps keep you safely on the road.

No mechanical experience is needed! This is meant to be a relaxed, hands-on learning opportunity where you can ask questions and learn directly from the people who work on vehicles every day.

We’re keeping sessions small so we don’t overwhelm our mechanics and so everyone has a chance to see, learn, and ask questions.

BEYOND THE STEERING WHEEL
Understanding Your Car — One Hour at a Time

Ever wished you understood a little more about what’s happening under the hood?

Maidens Family Auto Care is excited to introduce Beyond the Steering Wheel, a new once-a-month, one-hour hands-on learning session for anyone interested in learning more about their vehicle and what goes into maintaining it.

👨‍🔧 Taught by our own experienced mechanics, each session will focus on practical, everyday automotive knowledge — explained in a way that’s easy to understand. No mechanical experience required!

Topics could include:
🔹 Understanding warning lights and your dashboard
🔹 Checking fluids and knowing what they do
🔹 Tires, tire pressure, tread and seasonal changes
🔹 Brakes and recognizing signs of wear
🔹 Oil changes and regular maintenance
🔹 Batteries and charging systems
🔹 What those noises, smells and vibrations might mean
🔹 What happens during a vehicle inspection
🔹 How preventative maintenance can save you money
🔹 Questions you’ve always wanted to ask a mechanic

Our goal is simple: to help you feel more confident and informed about the vehicle you drive every day.

Whether you’re a new driver, have been driving for 40 years, or simply want to better understand your vehicle, Beyond the Steering Wheel is for you.

Please join us in welcoming Kyle to the Maidens Family Auto Care team! 🔧🎉

Kyle first joined us last year as a co-op student and quickly proved to be a hardworking, eager-to-learn member of our shop. He returned in September as a full-day co-op student, where he officially signed his automotive apprenticeship through the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP).

Throughout his final semester of high school this spring, Kyle continued working with us part-time, building his skills and becoming an important part of our team.

Today, we're excited to announce that Kyle has officially joined Maidens Family Auto Care as a full-time apprentice technician!

We're proud to support the next generation of skilled trades and couldn't be happier to have Kyle continue his career with us. Congratulations, Kyle—we're looking forward to seeing everything you'll accomplish!
