If I've learned anything while driving my clean, silent Electric Car, it's that education is the main stumbling block preventing EVs from becoming mainstream.

Not range, not charging infrastructure, not even purchase price ... just insufficient availability to up to date information on the financial and personal and environmental advantages of driving a superior vehicle.

Last year we watched and met Silke & Rolf (Tesla X Canada)who drove their Tesla X and trailer across Canada (https://TeslaXCanada.com/) to show that long distance EV Driving is alive and well.

Now, this summer, Buddy & Barb are driving their BOLT EV along the Green Highway across Canada to show that you can "Bolt Across Canada" and do the same trip in a $30K EV, too. (https://www.BoltAcrossCanada.com/ & also on FaceBook: https://www.Facebook.com/BoltAcrossCanada/).

Time-lines are rather nebulous, of course, but they left the Pacific Ocean, Victoria, BC on July 1st and hope to reach the Atlantic Ocean in about two months, educating gass guzzling Canadians about EV's along the way. That could put them in the Toronto area around the middle of August. So, let's plan to give them a royal welcome when they pass through our GTA, perhaps at Windfall Ecology Centre in Aurora or at one of our many DC Fast Chargers in our area. Either Kent or I will let you know when and where we will meet them.

Wow!! I just saw their Facebook update ... they arrived in Wawa, Ontario July 10th! Maybe they got tired driving and flew across the Prairies! They'll be here long before August (like later this week!). Buddy explained to me that he was a truck driver.

As Brenda and I will be in Newfoundland for the next two weeks, we'll probably get to see them while we're there!

Time for some Crowd Funding for some CHAdeMO Level 3 Chargers ... but OUTSIDE of the GTA. We have Four CHAdeMO chargers in the entire province of Ontario, and all Four are within 15 Km of each other in the GTA. We need one in Barrie to open up cottage Country and one in Cambridge to open up London On. Then a few between Toronto and Montreal. OR negotiate with Elon about using his existing network of SuperChargers and develop a special Tesla to CHAdeMO adapter.
