PRICE OF LABOR ?????
To all the people who are constantly upset why something costs so much.
A client asked me how much a certain job would cost him.
I replied: "$500”
He asked, “So much? That is a lot!"
So I asked, "How much did you think it would cost you?"
"A maximum of 100 bucks or free, that's fast."
"For 100, I invite you to do it yourself."
"Hmmm yes, but I don't know how."
"For 100. I would teach you so you know next time and save 400.”
The client thinks this is a good idea and accepts it.
Then I explain to him what he needs to have for this job: “At least two welding devices, a lathe, various tools, consumables, disks, wire, gas, electrodes, etc. etc. ... "
'' But I don't own all that stuff! And I will not buy all this just for this time. "
"Well, then I'll lend you mine for 200,- so you can do it yourself. "
"Yes, it's good," he told me.
"Perfect! Then I'm expecting you on Friday."
"Ah, I can't on Friday. I only have time today."
"But today I don't have time to lend you my things and teach you how to work. Plus, you don't have time to buy the raw materials you still need. "
"I'm sorry ... but the extra trip to the store is a little too expensive. And then my time spent. And you have everything. Can you sell me raw materials? "
"Okay, but only because I want you to do everything right. I am selling you my material for another 100 More. You have to arrive on time because I have another job. I look forward to seeing you here tomorrow at 5 am to begin your work. "
'' You know what? It's too early for me. I better pay you 500. I have already calculated and it will cost me much more ... "
