More of the correction, The passenger side door and roof line was out enough that my hand fit between the roof and door, so with limited options to repair, I sectioned the roof and added more from a donor cab. Far from finished, but great results so far.

PRICE OF LABOR ?????

To all the people who are constantly upset why something costs so much.

A client asked me how much a certain job would cost him.

I replied: "$500”

He asked, “So much? That is a lot!"

So I asked, "How much did you think it would cost you?"

"A maximum of 100 bucks or free, that's fast."

"For 100, I invite you to do it yourself."

"Hmmm yes, but I don't know how."

"For 100. I would teach you so you know next time and save 400.”

The client thinks this is a good idea and accepts it.

Then I explain to him what he needs to have for this job: “At least two welding devices, a lathe, various tools, consumables, disks, wire, gas, electrodes, etc. etc. ... "

'' But I don't own all that stuff! And I will not buy all this just for this time. "

"Well, then I'll lend you mine for 200,- so you can do it yourself. "

"Yes, it's good," he told me.

"Perfect! Then I'm expecting you on Friday."

"Ah, I can't on Friday. I only have time today."

"But today I don't have time to lend you my things and teach you how to work. Plus, you don't have time to buy the raw materials you still need. "

"I'm sorry ... but the extra trip to the store is a little too expensive. And then my time spent. And you have everything. Can you sell me raw materials? "

"Okay, but only because I want you to do everything right. I am selling you my material for another 100 More. You have to arrive on time because I have another job. I look forward to seeing you here tomorrow at 5 am to begin your work. "

'' You know what? It's too early for me. I better pay you 500. I have already calculated and it will cost me much more ... "

So sometimes it looks like I took more apart than I put together in the first place! From engine mock up to placement, the engine is now sitting on its mounts, leveled, and just making final measurements before fabricating a transmission crossmember. As an added bonus, I confirmed the supercharger fits under the hood with plenty of room. There is actually enough room, I’m considering channeling the body a few inches, but that’s after the power train is all mounted.

Still waiting on parts, but with another sprinkle comes some more progress. The 41’ ford axle has been rebuilt, the front brakes retrofitted to disc brakes, and the rear differential squared and mocked up. Up next, engine mock up and adjust the front and rear ride height.

So with the new conditions placed upon businesses in our province, I’d like to update our customers on changes on how we continue to provide our services.

If you have ANY flu like symptoms, we are not able to provide our services to you.

We will be providing work on an appointment basis only, all work will be on a drop off and pick up basis only, we will not be able to provide customers with transportation. All vehicles will be disinfected upon arrival and prior to leaving.

I’m sure there’s more, but for now that’s it, stay safe guys.
