Cason Sherrod will be presenting at The Energy Expo on Thursday, August 21, at 11:30 am.

His session, “Sustainability and Utilization of Water During Non-Destructive Digging,” will explore the long-term viability of vacuum excavation in North America.

Hydrovac excavation may be the most common method of safe digging, but it comes at a cost—every day, the industry is estimated to waste enough potable water to meet the daily needs of 10 million people, turning it into useless slurry.

💡 Don’t miss this deep dive into sustainable alternatives that could shape the future of excavation.

Make sure to attend and join the conversation on how the industry can dig safer and smarter.

The Best Choice for Excavation Near Pipelines

Ox Equipment’s dry vacs are specifically engineered for safe, efficient excavation around pipelines and underground utilities.

Digging with air instead of water keeps material dry, allowing it to be dumped onsite and reused. This eliminates costly off-site disposal trips and the need for water refills.

Unlike hydrovacs, which rely on water for optimal performance, our dry suction excavators are designed for continuous dry digging. Each unit is built with specialized features that keep material flowing, resulting in greater efficiency and reduced downtime.

Built for Versatility!

From ground-level excavation to rooftop ballast removal, dry vacs deliver results.

An Ox Equipment dry vac, with its 24,000 CFM twin-fan system—four times the power of a traditional vac—cleared ballast from a 7,000 sq. ft. roof quickly and safely, dumping it nearby for future reuse.

The job was completed faster than a crew of 5–8 labourers, reducing workforce fatigue, cutting labour costs, and helping the contractor stay on schedule.

Increase efficiency with a dry suction excavator.

Advantages of Dry—On-Site Dumping

Ox Equipment’s dry vacs use high-pressure air instead of water, keeping material completely dry during excavation. This makes it possible to dump right on site and reuse material.

No water means safer handling of contaminated materials—no seepage, no runoff, and simple containment. It also means faster disposal, lower costs, and no premiums for liquid waste processing.

The result: Less downtime, reduced environmental impact, and a more efficient way to manage excavated material.
