Styled with cues from the sport prototypes of the 1960s,
This road registered sports car features full carbon fibre bodywork, a space-frame tube chassis and custom suspension. Power is by way of a mid-mounted, ITB injected Nissan 3.5L V6, mated to an Audi gearbox.With a curb weight of just 1594 lbs, the car is fast, nimble and an absolute ‘go-kart’ to drive, without feeling dangerously overpowered.

-The sleek body lines take cues from the sport prototypes and Italian hill climb cars of the 1960s, with a heavy influence from Ferrari’s Dino 206sp, chassis number 022.
The body is one of a kind with the original buck being hand sculpted by eye from EPS foam, then molded, and a single carbon fibre body pulled from the mold. After completion, the original foam buck and fibreglass molds were destroyed.
The space-frame tube chassis is built from DOM seamless structural tube and TIG welded, integrating chassis design concepts from multiple race cars of the 1960s era as well as later concepts to increase rigidity.
Power is provided by a 2008 Nissan VQ35HR 3.5L V6 sourced from a 350z. Freshened before install, the engine internals are otherwise stock, while the custom built intake manifold supports six individual fuel injected throttle bodies.
Engine management is handled by a MaxxECU ‘Maxx-Race’ stand-alone ECU.
A light weight Audi flywheel and Audi 6 puck clutch drive an Audi 01A 5 speed gearbox, with a gated gear selector comfortably placed in the drivers right hand.
The interior is raw and simple with chassis tubing, aluminum, and carbon panels exposed, while the vinyl upholstered seat fits a 6’ tall driver and a passenger in relative comfort. The dash cluster of Autometer gauges indicate basic functions as well as horn, high-beam, hazard, indicator lights, and engine start buttons.
The interior also features a heater fan for comfort on cooler days.
An easily removable passenger pod tonneau cover adds another “race car” element to driving solo.
Uprights, suspension and their geometries are designed and fabricated specifically to this application with the use of CAD.
Three-way adjustable coil-over dampers garnish each corner with fronts being sourced from a Yamaha R6 and rears sourced from Yamaha R1 sport bikes.
Braking features dual four piston calipers on each front corner, while rear discs are inboard mounted with 4 piston calipers, all calipers being sourced from Yamaha R1 sport bikes.
Steering is manual rack and pinion sourced from Ford, through a steering column that features a crush-joint and puts a 12” MOMO ‘prototipo’ steering wheel in the drivers hands on a quick release hub.
Steel wheel components were provided by ‘Basset racing wheels’ for the creation of custom widths, spoke pattern and offsets. They feature a 4 on 4.5” bolt pattern with lug-nuts hidden behind custom hubcaps and convincing centre knock-off hubs.
They are powered coated in a ‘magnesium gold’ shade and are wrapped with 14” rear and 13” front BFGoodrich radial TA tires.
Painted in Ferrari’s famous Rosso Corsa single stage red, the paint is admittedly not free of flaws or orange-peel and can be considered a “race car paint job”, excusing eventual patina as simply added character, without fearing for the care of flawless paintwork.
The driving experience is exciting, responsive and raw as one would expect from a small, open top car, yet still smooth and easy to drive through the city, and surprisingly comfortable on a long drive. It is a beautiful balance of an analog race car feel mated with the smooth ride appreciated by a passenger. Weighing just 1594 lbs, the balance and power to weight ratio feel just right, with great low end torque and available power at any speed, without feeling over powered, dangerous or unmanageable.
Modern fuel injection, obtainable parts and simple understandable mechanicals keep the car reliable, affordable and basic to care for by anyone with common tools and basic mechanical skills. These factors lighten the burden of the hassles and costs associated with owning an actual vintage race/sports car of an exotic make.
