🌩️ HOW TO: RV HAIL DAMAGE CLAIM
Your RV was caught in a hailstorm. Now what?
Here’s a simple guide to getting the process started:
1️⃣ CHECK YOUR RV
Once it is safe, visually inspect your RV for obvious hail damage. Look at the siding, roof, vents, skylights and exterior components. Don’t climb onto the roof unless you can do so safely.
2️⃣ TAKE PHOTOS
Take pictures of any damage you can safely see. It can also be helpful to take photos showing the overall condition of the RV after the storm.
3️⃣ CONTACT YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY
If you see damage or believe your RV may have been damaged, contact your insurance provider. Ask what they require to start a hail claim and whether they need an inspection or estimate.
4️⃣ GET YOUR CLAIM NUMBER
Keep your claim number and adjuster information handy. Your repair shop may need this information during the estimating and repair process.
5️⃣ CHOOSE AN RV REPAIR SHOP
Find a qualified RV repair facility to inspect the damage and prepare an estimate.
6️⃣ HAVE THE ENTIRE RV INSPECTED
Hail damage isn't always obvious from the ground. Roof vents, skylights, covers, sealants and other components can be damaged even when the RV looks okay at first glance.
7️⃣ LET THE CLAIM PROCESS BEGIN
Your insurance company and repair facility can then work through the estimate, approvals and any additional damage discovered during the repair process.
