LONG SERVICE INTERVALS........
The service intervals are determined by the engine,development engineers in conjunction with the oil supplier. Obviously, engine durability is a key requirement, as is convenience and low cost for customers.
Some carmarkers stipulate a fixed interval, for example 15 000km/10 months, whereas others such as Video determine the interval by a complex algorithm in the engine control unit (ECU) that takes driving style, atmospheric conditions, oil level, time since last service,
Etc, into account. It is perfectly acceptable to conduct more frequent servicing if u feel it is necessary not to blame for a loss of performance, but rather dirty air, fuel filters and fouled sparkplug in a petrol engine........ Gson auto..
