Voor de tweede keer op heel korte tijd moet VR Racing een zwaar verlies verwerken.

Met pijn in het hart vernamen we vandaag dat onze Hubert gisteren is overleden.

Hubert was jarenlang onze vaste “bandenman”, maar vooral een vaste waarde binnen ons team. Iemand op wie je altijd kon rekenen. Zijn werk deed hij met een enorme toewijding en precisie – de banden waren zijn terrein, en daar liet hij niemand zomaar tussen. Dat typeerde hem.

Maar Hubert was zoveel meer dan dat. Elk raceweekend bracht hij niet alleen zijn vakmanschap mee, maar ook warmte en gezelligheid. Zijn wafels, speciaal gemaakt voor het team, waren een traditie waar we telkens opnieuw naar uitkeken. Kleine momenten die nu plots zo groot en waardevol blijken te zijn.

We gaan hem missen. Zijn aanwezigheid, zijn karakter, zijn stille toewijding.

Het ga je goed, Hubert. Doe de groeten aan de Les als je hem tegenkomt.

Onze gedachten zijn bij zijn zoon Sten, op wie we ook altijd hebben kunnen rekenen. We wensen hem en zijn familie enorm veel sterkte toe in deze moeilijke tijd.

We’ve arrived at Rally Tour de Corse! 🏁

The BMW 323i Group 2 has made it to Corsica and is ready for the adventure ahead. Five days of legendary roads, beautiful scenery and historic rally action await!

Another day in the workshop working on the details of this E21 Group 5 currently under restoration. 🔧

Today we fabricated custom air ducts to guide the hot air from the radiators out through the upper section of the already modified side panels.

More to come as the restoration continues.

Met grote verslagenheid nemen we afscheid van Leslie.

Leslie was jarenlang een vaste waarde binnen ons team. Steeds stond hij paraat om ons te vergezellen tijdens de wedstrijden, mee te helpen in de keuken en vooral om samen met de hele ploeg mooie momenten te beleven.

Hij was niet alleen een trouwe teamgenoot, maar ook iemand die deel uitmaakte van onze Qvick Motors-VR Racing familie. Zijn aanwezigheid, inzet en vriendschap zullen enorm gemist worden.

Onze gedachten gaan uit naar zijn familie, vrienden en iedereen die hem dierbaar was.

Rust zacht, Leslie.

The BMW E21 323i Rally Regularity is finished and ready for action! 🏁

Built as a Group 2-inspired car based on the iconic Luigi Martini rally car, this E21 has been completely taken apart and rebuilt from A to Z.

The focus throughout the build was on reliability, drivability and a clean, well-organised layout, with everything designed to make life as easy as possible for both driver and co-driver.

And its first rally is already waiting — and it’s certainly not a small one. The E21 will soon face the Tour de Corse, a demanding five-day event that will put this new weapon to the test.

The ultimate goal is the Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique early next year.

We can’t wait to see this E21 finally out on the stages where it belongs. 🏆
