8H of Charade ✅

#18

Car #18 welcomed two new drivers with limited experience. They kept it clean, avoided damage, and showed clear progress throughout the event. In Race 2, the #18 also achieved its best result of the season so far!

They stayed out of trouble, quietly worked their way up the field, had fun, and learned a lot along the way.

After securing overall pole position, everyone was ready!

All three drivers were closely matched, and the first race was going well until the organizer’s communication system failed. As a result, we lost our second place overall and had to settle for 3rd overall and a victory in the Fun Class.

The second race was a similar story. We ran 2nd overall for almost the entire race, until the final 30 minutes when our competitors were able to refuel under a yellow flag period and gained a lap advantage over us. This left us finishing 4th overall and 1st in class.

On a positive note, we once again claimed the fastest lap in class in both races!

That’s racing, but we still look back on this as a valuable learning weekend. Once again, we proved that we have what it takes to fight at the front.

A huge thank you to our entire team!

Round 2: 8H of Spa-Francorchamps

A challenging weekend for the DPW-Racing team.

After practice and qualifying, things were looking very promising. The #518 qualified 2nd overall and 1st in the Cup category, while the #254 secured 12th overall and 3rd in Fun. The #18 qualified 67th, and the rookie drivers in the #437 placed 68th.

Race

#18
The 18 had a strong start and worked its way into the Top 30 overall. After minor contact, the front hood was damaged and had to be replaced. Later, a mechanical issue occurred, and the main goal became to score as many points as possible and finish the race.

They started strong and immediately joined the leading group. For 7 hours, they were battling for P1 overall. Unfortunately, a traffic jam in the pit lane cost them 2 minutes. Later, they received a one-lap penalty for overtaking under yellow. A disappointment, but they still leave with a positive feeling. The overall fastest lap of the race was also set by our 254.

437
In their first race, they performed well, consistently running in the Top 40. A small steering error from one of the drivers required repairs, but our mechanics got the car back on track, and they finished the race.

518
After just 2 laps, our 518—running 2nd overall at the time—was involved in a very heavy crash.
The team managed to get the car back on track after 3 hours and 20 minutes. They completed the race.

A tough weekend, but we’ll come back stronger in Charade!

Our line-up for the 8H Spa is officially confirmed!

With six cars, DPW heads to the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit, ready for an exciting weekend of racing.

#18 – Pure Category
With Henk Rogiers, Bart Custers, and Christophe Grosjean behind the wheel, this strong trio will be aiming to fight at the front of the Pure category and challenge for a Top 5 finish.

#254 – Fun Category
Michiel Lescroart and Feye Hijts will once again share driving duties, this time joined by new and fast driver Davy Vandekerckhove. Together they form a competitive team in the Fun category, with one clear goal: victory.

#437 – Pure Category
A new car and new drivers joining us this weekend. Mauro Rosso and Gerald Steininger will make their Fun Cup debut with our latest addition to the team. Their objective is clear: gain experience and reach the finish line.

#518 – Cup Category
Zoë Meulders, Yan Meulders, and top driver Lucas Taelman will be fighting in the Cup category. After suffering bad luck in the previous race, they already showed they have the pace to battle with the leading group.

#381 & 390 – Training
Cars 381 and 390 will take part in the training sessions. For 390, driven by Jimmy Verstraete, it will be a special debut in the Fun Cup. Jimmy is paralyzed from the chest down and controls everything by hand. Huge respect for his determination, and we are excited to see what he can achieve this weekend.

For the 8 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps on May 1–2, we are still looking for 2 drivers for Biplace #390.

#390 Biplace with Motec!

This is a standout project: with paraplegic driver Jimmy Verstraete making his debut in the Fun Cup, having already proven his speed during track days, this car is expected to fight for a podium position in the biplace category.

#18 & #518 Race Report

The regular #18 line-up (Bart and Henk) was joined on Saturday by Feye Hijts and on Sunday by Wout Sneppe.

Friday
2h practice, 2h qualifying

Qualifying
P10 Overall
P5 Pure

Wout managed to set a lap good enough for P10 overall, leaving mixed feelings.

Race 1
Feye took the start and delivered a very clean opening stint, especially considering he had only driven one lap on Friday. He brought the car back without a single scratch in P12 overall.

Bart and Henk completed their stints nicely and also brought the car across the finish line without damage 👏

Feye set the 5th fastest lap out of 113 drivers 👊

Race 2
Wout took the start and worked his way up to P4 overall, P1 in the Pure class, and set the fastest lap in that class. His fastest lap was the 2nd quickest overall out of 110 drivers 👏

Bart and Henk faced tougher conditions in Race 2 but showed clear progress in the rain and consistently kept the car clean.

They secured two podium finishes in the ‘Petit 20’ class 🏆🏆

Training
P3 Overall
A strong start, with a clear focus on driver development and progress.

Qualifying
DPW had two competitive cars and used this to full advantage. Thanks to strong teamwork, Lucas Taelman set the fastest lap time—identical to the 280—resulting in a shared pole position.

Race 1
Lucas immediately took the lead and held it throughout his stint. The team remained in contention for a top 3 overall finish.

After one of the drivers got stuck in the gravel, they dropped back but still managed to recover and finish inside the top 15 overall.

Lucas set the 2nd fastest lap time overall.

Race 2
Lucas once again took the lead and controlled the race during his stint. Despite difficult wet conditions, strong stints from Zoë and Yan kept the team in P3 overall.

A 74-second stop & go penalty for speeding in the pit lane dropped them back to P15 with one hour to go.

Lucas pushed hard, gaining 10 positions in less than an hour and finishing P5 overall and P4 in class.
Lucas best time secured a P.5 in the overall fastest laps. Zoë finished as 1st female driver👏

A strong lineup with the goal of gaining as much experience as possible and steadily working their way forward!
