For those 4 people that might be wondering.. .yes, there is a Baskerville 2025 video coming, but it`s taking awhile. I`m trying to build more of a short film this time, and it`s a labor of love (despite some of the tools in it)... and I`m working with not a lot of footage. But here is a preview, and with luck, we might have it finished by the end of the month... or at least, before Historics 2030... its a rough cut, unlike me...

I promise there is actual 1:1 scale car stuff coming... progress is there but kind of boring.
Instead, 1:20th scale stuff is much more interesting right now. This is the first time I`m really leaning into clear over decals and polishing, and air brushing everything and hardly touching a paint brush. This little Renault F1 kit looks sensational.

Home stretch... then I guess I better do some proper TOOL stuff. Ive got all the decals on the big bits (love a good Tur-bro decal), ready to clear and polish, and it looks pretty dam good. Plus, Ive genuinely had a ball building it. Great hobby, not super expensive, and pretty rewarding too. Shame there is no where to show off these things anymore.

In TOOL related news, I used Skynet to come up with a proper ECU setup guide for the E36 to plug all the right numbers in, so we should got some bang bang boom boom going on the weekend. I need this car finished.
I`ll also upload all the receipts, notes, diagrams, and everything else for the E36 and do a users manual for it. Pretty cool AI, embrace it, don't let it embrace you.

There is real car stuff coming soon... the E36 now has injectors, crank sensor, cam sensor, coild packs and the TPS all working. We`ve just got to set the timing and then start it. I have really taken any photos of that work cause it`s boring and I`m sort of over that car now. Ive also got to finish off some video`s.
But, I have also been enjoying late evenings building the RE30 kit. The metal paints work a treat. Its actually been very therapeutic, the gentle zen of kit building.

I`m enjoying this Renault RE30 build way more than the Rally Pug... It`s fun to play with all the different metal finishes you can buy now.
And in E36 news... I uploaded the LINK manual into AI, told it I had a BMW M44, RHD ITB`s and how I wired it up. AI then used it`s enormous compute brain to belittle me and tell me everything I got wrong and how to make it right.. so its given me an "explain it to me like I`m 5" plan to change some settings, swap a few wires around and then it should... start... I also asked it if I clean my vacuum cleaner, am I a vacuum cleaner? And I`m still waiting for a response.

Just mucking around with all the various beautiful metal colours you can spray with the airbrush these days. Sadly, the camera doesnt do it justice...
Oh, and we did hit fire up on the E36 yesterday, as suspected, Ive got a bit of wiring to swap around but for the most part it went well enough that it didnt catch fire or explode.

So things have been quiet here but hobbies and projects are continuing. Most of the E36 posts will look the same so I`m waiting for the next big update which will be this weekend when, possibly, it will make some noise...
I`ve also rediscovered the joy of modelling, the G rated kind. Growing up as a kid I was always sticking kits together, another hobby I inherited from the old man. I like how all the bits are in the box, a bit of garnish and engine furniture can make them pop, and I can do them upstairs on the table and sit down to build some pretty cool cars.
This one is the 1:20 scale RE30 Renault, and my first time using Alclad2 metal paint. Not sure Ive got it completely right but it looks a whole lot better than Tamiya aluminium spray paint. Unfortunatley the LED light makes the metal flakes look much beigger than they are, in the natural light it looks like a pretty cool alloy.
I definitely want to commit to another 1:12 build this winter, just not sure which one yet. Ive got the Tamiya 90`s Holy Grail kits, but maybe one of the earlier ones might be better. Ive also got this awful Heller Ligier which I picked up for $50 at the Picnic at Ross car show and its a howler, but its such a cool car...

Courage... well, backing yourself maybe. Finally found the balls to power up the ECU, and ah, it went well. Ive plugged all the numbers in, and we know the fuel pump is triggering, the TPS works as it should, and it would seem, that once Tim has finished fettling the fuel rail we can crank the bastard. I wont lie, I want this finished.

In the meantime, I did enjoy building that French Rally car kit, so, what to select next...? That Ligier kit was a steal at $50, is one of the worst kits of all time, but, its cool AF, and one of the weak points, the DFV, can be fixed with a few I rescued from some old Tamiya kits Dad built 50 years ago... But that big scale Renault is cool, as is the Lotus... or, some of those 1:20 kits are quick fun out of the box builds.

Hmmm.. I have got a cupboard full of open wheelers...
Or I suppose I could grow some balls and put some power through the ECU on the E36 and start it...

Should have this finished in a day or two. Sometimes its good to pull out a project that has a reasonably quick beginning, middle, and end. These side quests are good to build the motivation to get back to the main storyline... getting the courage up to power up the E36.
