The JAS Tensei has been unveiled. Italian race specialist JAS Motorsport has rebuilt the first-generation NSX around its aluminium monocoque, and Pininfarina has styled it inside and out. The pop-up headlights survive, now with LED projectors and titanium mechanisms.

Behind the cabin sits a naturally aspirated 3.5-litre V6, developed by Judd from the original Honda block and revving to 8500rpm – although the VTEC has been removed. It drives the rear wheels through a six-speed manual.

Just 35 will be built, each to individual order near Milan.

Restomod done right, or should the NSX have been left alone?
